I’m not sure how many of you guys know, but I work a full-time, non-fashion job that pretty much keeps me cooped up in an office Monday through Friday, sitting at a desk, hunched over a computer. Sounds glamorous, right? haha. Like any job, it can definitely be stressful at times, so I try to make sure I’m taking steps to de-stress on the weekends! Unlike my cat-like fiance, who could probably sleep standing up, I hate napping because I feel like I’ve wasted time (let me know if you’re like that! I feel like such a weirdo sometimes), so I find other ways to relax and take my mind off work.
As I’m sure you’d imagine, one of my absolute favorite ways to de-stress is by going shopping, but let’s be honest–sometimes a girl’s budget just doesn’t allow for a shopping spree! Since I spend so much time cooped up indoors, getting some fresh air by taking a walk in the sunshine is a great way to unwind. I always have my music going since it helps me clear my mind and boost my mood! This workout set from Fit For Me is just right for light impact activities. The Fit for Me Strappy Built-in Bra Tank has a built in shelf bra for support, and I love the bright pop of print! The fabric is moisture-wicking, and I love that Fit for Me opted for a tag-free design. No itchy tags to worry about here! The tank and contouring capris are both super reasonably priced at under $15 each, so I don’t feel guilty about stocking up!
Aside from getting outdoors, I like to de-stress by playing with makeup. There is nothing more relaxing than testing new lip colors (these liquid lipsticks from Bite Beauty are my new favorites) and swatching eyeshadows. Does anyone else do this?? I find it so stress-relieving! Everything is so pretty, and I feel like it helps me be more creative–the gorgeous color palettes are great for dreaming up new outfits!
Another favorite for taking my mind off the stresses of everyday life is cooking! I don’t know what it is about stirring a giant pot of sauce on the stove, but I find it so calming. I’ve been reading this cookbook from David Lebovitz and it’s so full of great stories and meal inspiration! I’m also reading his book, Sweet Life in Paris, which is a must-read for any foodies or Francophiles out there!
What are some of your favorite ways to de-stress? Do you do any of the same things I do? I’d love to know in the comments!
