Opted for very 70’s fall colors for #OOTDOctober Day 20, and while the mix might not be for everyone, I’m not mad at it! This look is similar to Monday’s outfit, but has a totally different vibe given the autumnal colors! Speaking of colors, one of the shades I’m trying to get more into is yellow. I’ve always had this fear of wearing yellow since I feel like it doesn’t work with my skin tone! Anyone else feel that way? I love a good mustard yellow piece for fall though, so I’m tiptoeing into the hue with skirts and tops in deeper hues, rather than larger pieces like dresses and coats!
I love the way the deep yellow/amber shade of the skirt contrasts with the dusty blue cropped sweater. It’s not at all matchy-matchy, but something about it just works for me! I mixed in a blush pink clutch from Vince Camuto (currently available in black, taupe, and snakeskin), and these budget-friendly two-strap heels from Merona! I love that each of these pieces are fairly basic and pretty muted, but together, they make sure a fun fall color palette! If this kind of color palette isn’t your thing, I think the skirt would look amazing with a cream-colored sweater and some simple ankle boots. I love that the sweater also looks amazing with some high-waisted denim!
I’m definitely looking forward to mixing more fall colors into my wardrobe. Rust, deep orange, reds, navy and forest green are at the top of my list right now! What fall colors are you guys reaching for most?

I caught myself nodding when I read your comment about wearing yellow. I’m Asian too and have such a hard time pulling off yellow as well as some greens and earthy colors. Several years ago, I saw a yellow top on an actress on TV and decided that I wanted to wear her same outfit. I was able to find a yellow top that looked good on me. I think the shade really makes a difference. The blue and orange outfit you’re wearing today is really nice, by the way. Really reminds me of fall and pumpkins. I’ve been enjoying seeing the different outfits you’ve been putting together everyday. Hope you keep it going.
