Ya’ll, I have a bone to pick. Why do fit and flare dresses get so much hate by ~~~high fashion people?? I get that it’s a “common” design, but fit and flare is one of my favorite silhouettes to wear because I feel so flirty and girly in it! I love the way the cut shows off my legs and balances out my no-butt-ness, so naturally, when I saw this sweater dress in a fit and flare silhouette, I had to pick it up! I’m obsessed with the forest green color and the mixed cable knit details. I just ordered it in grey too, since it’s currently on sale for 40% off! While the dress isn’t technically plus size, I’m wearing the size XXL and it fits my 18/20 top well. I’m smaller on the bottom (about a size 16), so if you’re shaped similarly, it should work for you, too! If anything, Nordstrom has a great return policy (and free return shipping!) if it ends up not working for you.
I opted to layer a black cami underneath the dress since the top portion has a slightly open knit, and for a little extra warmth. For chilly evenings, I would definitely pair this with a long wool coat since the sweater knit isn’t super heavy. For day, I styled the sweater dress with a pair of over the knee boots and my Chanel chevron boy bag with mixed leathers. This look would be perfect for a winter brunch or after work drinks where you want to look nice but don’t need to be too dressed up. 🙂
