Several weeks ago, I asked you guys what you wanted to see more of on my blog and on social, so today, I’m answering @caroline501’s request for more affordable business casual, plus size workwear! While it’s a common request, I don’t often feature workwear because I personally work in a pretty casual environment at my day job, and therefore, don’t really own that much business casual clothing. Unless I’m meeting with a client, most of my days are spent in a simple dress and flats or ankle boots, and either a blazer or leather moto jacket to layer (so more or less exactly what I wear on the blog, haha). Since business casual tends to be a bit more put together, I opted for a more traditional color palette but made it fashion forward with the interesting shapes and patterns!
I’m still on a serious LOFT kick, and this wrap top has been a staple piece in my wardrobe. I love that it pairs just as well with skinny jeans as it does with a pencil skirt! Keep an eye out for their sales since they often have great deals, especially around the holidays. The skirt I’m wearing is super budget-friendly from Target, but is a couple years old, so I linked a similar budget-friendly option below! A classic black pencil skirt is timeless and a total workhorse, so if you don’t have one but need to build up your work wardrobe, I definitely suggest picking up a couple pencil skirts in different colors! I also love these neoprene options at a slightly higher price point since they have so many fun colors and prints–hello leopard print!

Hi Alison, love your style and how you put your outfits together !
I would love to see your photos of your closet – how you organize it etc.

My closet is a mess, with a ton of extra clothing racks because I can’t fit what I have into the space I have…maybe once I do a cleanout!!! ๐ Or maybe I could document the organizing process…either way, it’s a bear of a task!

That outfit is so beautiful. It looks like the skirt is the perfect fit, not to tight, not to loose. I don’t like how some pencil skirts are so form fitting. Your’s looks perfect!
