I waxed on yesterday about how much I love a good fit and flare dress, so today I thought I would chat about the tux dress, another underrated style! I feel like people tend to shy away from this shape since it can be boxy or hard to fit well for those of us with curves, which is why I love this version so much! It’s fitted enough to show off your body, rather than swallow your frame in a boxy cut, but also a stretchy, slinky fabric that doesn’t pull across the bust or stomach like many blazer dresses and tux dresses do! It even has a decorative AND functional clip detail in the back that makes it easy to adjust the dress if it’s too boxy. I feel like this is such a sexy take on the tux dress, and its simple design makes it easy to accessorize and restyle again and again.
I paired it with strappy heels and a sparkly clutch and earrings for a fun, grown up holiday look. This would look killer on my curvier gals with hips, too! It hangs a bit on me since I’m so much bigger on top than the bottom, but I think it works anyway. 😉 For those of you who live in colder climates, I think this would look so chic under a black maxi coat with sheer black tights and knee-high or over-the-knee boots, too!
