It’s officially COLD (well, for Southern Californians at least), with evenings dropping into the 40’s! I’m not used to needing to wear more than just any old dress and jacket, and to prove it, my body has decided to go ahead and get sick to add insult to injury. Doesn’t it know that I’m too busy to be sick? hahaha Anyway, I’m resorting to bundling up in my coziest pieces (and OTK boots!) and mainlining kombucha and chai tea lattes to drive the sickness away! That, with a solid regimen of DayQuil and I’m hoping to kick this thing before it gets worse. After all, I’ve got a company holiday party this Friday, then a trip to Vegas this weekend to catch a concert! If you have any other home remedies you think I should try, let me know!
It doesn’t get much cozier than faux fur, and this lilac faux fur coat from ELOQUII pretty much makes my day whenever I put it on. It’s soooooo insanely soft, and I love that the color is so fun! I love it paired back to white, grey, and black, but I think it would amazing as part of a tonal look with other lilac/purple pieces. I opted for a grey plaid mini skirt and a cream camisole to let the coat shine, and kept my legs toasty with my new super budget-friendly, wide calf OTK boots! I get a lot of questions about these boots (I have them in all three colors), but they’re selling out verrrrry quickly, so if you’re into them, don’t wait to get them! My tips for these, and all OTK boots are: 1. If the legs are too long for you, just fold them down inward to the height that best suits what you’re wearing, 2. don’t overtighten the strings at the top of they’ll dig into your thighs and create mini muffin tops. Also, when you do, they’ll be more difficult to pull back up when they inevitably fall down, and 3. for the inevitable slouching and falling down that happens with this style of boot, check out these hacks that I saw over on the Stitch Fix blog! I have yet to try them out but the dried glue-on-your-sock tip sounds promising!
