Before we get started, let me set the record straight. I love basics. They’re the cornerstone of any great wardrobe! When it comes to street style though, the key to keeping a look from being basic is all in the styling!
You guys know I’m obsessed with Old Navy’s denim (I firmly believe their Rockstar skinny jeans are made with magic), and I stock up on their summer dresses and tees every year! I know the adage says not to mess with a good thing, but Old Navy recently revamped their tees, and I. Am. Here. For. It! The shirts are now TAGLESS, and come in fitted, boyfriend, and relaxed cuts. They are also insanely soft, and crazy versatile. Real talk, I went into the store just to check them out and walked out with SIX of them. Yes, they are that good! My favorite cut is definitely the boyfriend fit. I picked it up in this variegated stripe and it’s been the perfect layering piece for my casual outfits! I love it tucked into a high-waisted skirt or paired with shorts for daytime, but it would look equally amazing with skinny ankle jeans, some ankle booties, and paired with a black moto jacket for an edgier nighttime look.
For a day out running some quick errands and doing a little shopping, I opted to style this tee with a super cute denim mini skirt with buttons up the front! Since one of the easiest ways to dress up a simple tee is by layering, I topped everything off with one of my favorite Spring and Summer pieces, a linen utility jacket. A tan saddle bag and matching heels are the perfect no-fuss pieces to round out a casual, daytime look that is far from basic!
Have you guys had a chance to check out Old Navy’s revamped line of tees and tanks? I can’t wait to pick up a couple more–their super soft tanks are next on my list!

I really like your jacket! As an apple-shaped, big busted woman I love t find those jackets that give some shape with the drawn in waist. Looks like it's light enough for summer too. Great look!
